Students Reset Password
The Students Reset Password page lets you reset login passwords for multiple students at once, filtered by class and section. This is useful at the start of a new session, when students forget their credentials, or when onboarding a batch of students who need fresh login details.

Students Reset Password — filter by class and section, then set new passwords
Reset Passwords
1
Navigate to Students → Students Reset Password
From the sidebar, expand **Students** and click **Students Reset Password**.
2
Select Class and Section
Use the **Class** and **Section** dropdowns at the top to filter students. After selecting both, the student list loads showing all active students in that class section.

3
Select students
Use the **checkboxes** to select the students whose passwords you want to reset. Use "Select All" to select everyone.
4
Set new passwords
You have two options: **Option A** — type a custom password in the **New Password** field for each student individually. **Option B** — use the bulk password field at the top to set the same password for all selected students.
5
Click Submit
Click **Submit** and confirm the action. Selected students' passwords are updated immediately. No email or notification is sent automatically — communicate the new passwords through your preferred channel.
Important Notes
Password security
- Passwords are stored as encrypted hashes — you cannot view existing passwords
- The default password for newly admitted students is typically their admission number
- Encourage students to change their password after first login via the student app
Individual reset
You can also reset an individual student's password from the Student Details edit form by checking the Reset Password checkbox.
